Hello!

Hello everyone! Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Katrina Ubell, MD. I’m a pediatrician who retired from my successful private practice to become a certified life and weight loss coach for other women physicians.

When I was first exposed to life coaching principles by my dear friend Andrea, I was immediately hooked. In fact, I kind of felt like the secrets to living a happy life were unveiled for me! I couldn’t wait to tell everyone I knew about it. I knew right away that I wanted to become a coach myself.

Fast forward a couple of years and my dream has come true! I left medicine behind, attended the most unbelievable training from what I consider to be the best life coach school in the country, achieved certification, and started my own business.

I’m so excited to share all that I’ve learned throughout my training as well as my experiences from coaching clients and my personal experiences with you here!

I just want to quickly mention that on this blog, I will not be using highly scientific language. Even though we all understand the super scientific stuff, that’s not the way I want to communicate with you. I certainly don’t want this to feel like you’re reading a medical journal! I want you to feel like we just sat down for a cup of coffee (or iced tea or wine) and are chatting like old friends. So some explanations may seem overly simplistic or watered down. Even so, the important main points will be made, even if some of the nitty gritty details are omitted. Also, you might not like my grammar sometimes. I was an engineering major. Enough said.

Once I did the thought work required for me to really grasp why I continued to perpetually gain and lose 40 pounds over and over again, it was like a huge burden had been lifted from me. I cleaned up my emotional eating, my meal-time overeating, and my desire to have food entertain me, bring me joy, and console me. What’s so amazing is that once I did this thought work, the weight started coming off….pretty much effortlessly! I have not had the typical willpower struggles that I experienced every time I went back to Weight Watchers (yup! Lifetime member here!). I’ve been able to ditch my all-or-nothing attitude toward healthy eating and weight loss. I truly feel liberated from this 25-year-long struggle.

And I’m here now, ready to share everything I’ve learned with you. I plan to use this blog and podcast to teach you amazing tools so that you can get the same results I have. I hear from people every day that the podcasts are making a difference in their weight loss.
